City of Laurens Fire Department to Dedicate New Pierce Pumper, Honor Firefighters on National Firefighter Day
April 26, 2026The City of Laurens Fire Department will host a Dedication & Designation Celebration and Sound Off on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Laurens Public Square Plaza.
The event, timed to coincide with National Firefighter Day, will feature the formal dedication of the department’s new Pierce pumper — a fire engine delivered earlier this month through Spartan Fire & Emergency Apparatus — and will serve as an opportunity to honor the service and sacrifice of firefighters across the nation.
The Laurens Fire Department, which has served the community since 1884 and holds a Class 1 ISO rating, is staffed by 14 full-time firefighters and 20 part-time firefighters trained in interior structural firefighting, confined space rescue, hazmat response, medical first response, fire prevention, and trench rescue.
Community members are invited to attend the celebration. Seating is limited, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
