City of Laurens to Host Veterans Day Celebration
November 8, 2021Veterans Day is observed annually on November 11th every year as a tribute to military veterans who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
This year the city of Laurens will hold a Veterans Day Celebration at 10:00 at the Historic Courthouse (or at The Ridge in the event of rain).
“Personally, Veterans Day is one of my favorite holidays each year. It is a time for celebration and thanksgiving, and we have the opportunity to honor our veterans while they are here with us,” said Laurens Mayor Nathan Senn. “Laurens’ veterans do so much to contribute to our community throughout the year, and so Thursday’s event is a time when we can come together as a city to let them know just how grateful we are.”
This will be a very special celebration of our veterans. The program includes participation from the 7th graders from District 55 schools and Laurens Academy.
“We have partnered with our schools so that we can link this celebration to their curriculum for this year which includes learning about World War I and World War II,” said Mayor Senn. “Teaching patriotism and honoring our heroes is a privilege, and I look forward to our community coming together to do just that!”
The public is invited to attend.
