September 3, 2008

COLUMBIA, SC – September 3, 2008 – Last evening, the West Columbia city council unanimously voted to select the Clare Morris Agency as its agency of record for marketing and communications services.

According to Mayor Bobby Horton and Mayor Pro Tem Tommy Parler, the Clare Morris team provided the highest level of quality services and measurable success for its other clients. “We have seen the success they have had with one of our sister cities and know they can provide the same level of service as we work to increase communications with our citizens and businesses,” Horton said at the meeting.

West Columbia joins a number of South Carolina communities that have selected the CMA team to provide communications support. Other clients include Dorchester County’s Economic Development office, Alliance Pickens, Laurens County Economic Development Corporation, Orangeburg County Development Corporation, as well as the City of Cayce.

“We are really excited to work with the City of West Columbia to provide essential communications to its businesses and residents,” said Clare Morris, president of the Columbia-based marketing and communications firm.

Last year, the S.C. Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) presented the Clare Morris Agency with an Award of Excellence for its 2007 legislative outreach campaign on behalf of the S.C. Centers of Economic Excellence (CoEE).

Formed in 2006, the Clare Morris Agency is a woman-owned marketing and public relations firm that specializes in helping companies and organizations that work to make South Carolina more competitive in the knowledge economy.
