City Welcomes Carolina Kernels to North Main with a ribbon cutting ceremony

February 29, 2016

On Tuesday, March 1, Mayor Steve Benjamin and Councilman Sam Davis will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to welcome Carolina Kernels to North Main St. The ribbon cutting will be held at 2720 Main St., and will begin at 11:00 am.

Carolina Kernels is a gourmet popcorn shop with over 60 flavors, to include: Cookies ‘N’ Cream, Key Lime, Chocolate Drizzle and Toffee.  Carolina Kernels has also been selected as the Office of Business Opportunities’ Business Spotlight for the month of February.

Many say that the gourmet popcorn shop is the best kept secret in Columbia and it is currently sold at the Colonial Life Arena during their basketball games. Carolina Kernels is a great place to spend time with family, ideal for parties and they even personalize popcorn for special occasions.

Geneva and Tamala are the mother/daughter duo behind the gourmet popcorn shop and their personable and friendly staff is what keeps customers coming back. They have also been recognized for having affordable prices and periodic specials.
