Clemson University Foundation welcomes two new members to Board of Directors

June 22, 2026

The Clemson University Foundation (CUF) has appointed two accomplished alumni and business leaders to its Board of Directors. Chalmers Carr III of Ridge Spring, South Carolina, and Eric J. Miller of Orlando, Florida, bring extensive experience in agriculture, entrepreneurship and philanthropy, along with longstanding records of service to Clemson and their communities.

“The Clemson University Foundation Board of Directors plays a vital role in advancing the University’s strategic priorities and ensuring strong stewardship of donor investments,” said Brian O’Rourke, Senior Vice President for Advancement. “Chalmers and Eric bring exceptional leadership experience, entrepreneurial vision and a deep passion for Clemson that will strengthen the Foundation and help advance the University’s future.”

As Clemson continues to build on its momentum in student success, research and outreach, the Foundation relies on dedicated volunteer leaders to help guide its work and steward private support. Carr and Miller will contribute valuable perspectives shaped by their professional achievements, philanthropic engagement and commitment to serving others.

Chalmers Carr III: Agricultural leader and Clemson advocate

A 1990 Clemson graduate with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics, Chalmers Carr III is co-owner and chief executive officer of Titan Farms, the second largest peach grower in the country.

Carr and his wife, Lori Anne Carr ’90, also a Clemson graduate, have built Titan Farms into one of the Southeast’s leading agricultural enterprises. Under their leadership, the company has expanded from 1,500 acres of peaches to more than 7,500 acres of peach and vegetable production building one of South Carolinas largest vertically integrated farming operations. Titan Farms grows, packs, processes, and sells fresh and frozen products nationally and internationally, and now grows more peaches than the entire state of Georgia.

Throughout his career, Carr has championed South Carolina agriculture while maintaining strong ties to his alma mater. He serves as a Fiercely Forward volunteer for Clemson’s College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences and supports numerous initiatives that benefit students and faculty.

The Carr family’s connection to Clemson spans generations. Carr’s father, Chalmers “Hap” Carr Jr. ’60, received the Clemson Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award and has actively supported Clemson Corps and other University initiatives. The Carr family has also established multiple endowments that support Clemson students, academic programs and Cooperative Extension outreach.

Carr has earned numerous honors throughout his career, including the South Carolina Farmer of the Year Award, the South Carolina Peach Council’s Mr. Peach Award and Clemson University’s College of Agriculture Professional Achievement Award. He and Lori Anne also received Farm Journal’s Top Producer of the Year recognition in 2017.

Eric J. Miller: Entrepreneur, executive advisor and business innovator

Eric J. Miller, a 1996 graduate of Clemson’s Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business, brings extensive experience in entrepreneurship, executive leadership and business growth to the Foundation board.

After co-founding Corkcicle, LLC in 2011 and helping build the Orlando-based lifestyle brand into a nationally recognized company, Miller departed the organization in August 2025 following more than a decade of leadership and growth. During his tenure, he helped transform a single product idea into a diversified consumer brand through product innovation, strategic partnerships and market expansion.

Today, Miller is founder and principal of Elevate-CXO, a consulting firm that provides fractional executive leadership services, including CEO, CRO and COO support, to small and mid-sized businesses and entrepreneurs. Through Elevate-CXO, he works closely with growing organizations to accelerate performance, strengthen operations and develop leadership capabilities.

This new venture allows Miller to lean into his passion for coaching, teaching and mentoring business leaders while providing strategic guidance to companies navigating growth and transformation.

Before his entrepreneurial career, Miller spent nearly 15 years in the healthcare industry, including leadership positions with CareFusion and Cardinal Health.

Miller and his wife, Megan, also a 1996 Clemson marketing graduate, have demonstrated their commitment to student success through philanthropy. In 2021, the couple established an endowment for scholarships to support out-of-state students in the Powers College of Business. They remain active supporters of Clemson athletics and University initiatives.

Supporting Clemson’s future

The Clemson University Foundation manages and invests private gifts that support Clemson University’s land-grant mission of teaching, research and service. Through responsible stewardship of donor resources, the Foundation helps create opportunities for students, faculty and programs across the University.

As members of the Board of Directors, Carr and Miller will help guide the Foundation’s strategic direction and ensure continued support for Clemson’s priorities and long-term success.
