Clinton and Laurens FFA Students Install Pollinator Garden at Joe R. Adair Outdoor Education Center

October 27, 2021

The Future Farmers of America (FFA) from Laurens & Clinton High Schools recently installed a pollinator garden at the Joe R. Adair Outdoor Education Center.

A pollinator garden is a garden that supports pollinators. They are crucial to the growth of our fruits and vegetables. Creating a pollinator garden is something they have wanted to do for quite a while at the Joe Adair Center. The teacher there, Tanya Towne, recently applied for and received a grant from the Laurens County Community Foundation. Boulders and soil were donated from local farmers. Only native plants were purchased for the garden.

Patricia Moberg from the Master Gardeners also assisted with the project. The Laurens County Beekeepers also recently donated a bee hive to the Adair Center.
