Clinton Canopy to Host Second Annual Daffodils for Remembrance Event
October 16, 2024Clinton Canopy will hold its second annual Daffodils for Remembrance Event on November 9, 2024. Community members are invited to gather in the West Main Street Parking area to plant daffodil bulbs in memory of loved ones from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
Daffodils, known for their bright yellow color symbolizing remembrance, are resilient flowers that return each spring, representing hope and renewal. This year, 600 bulbs, funded by a Community Assistance Grant, will be available for planting. Clinton Canopy will also have additional bulbs for purchase on-site.
Those interested can sign up online to receive a free set of bulbs in memory of a loved one. The names of those honored will be listed on Clinton Canopy’s webpage, and each year, the daffodils will bloom as a tribute. Participants are encouraged to attend the event and plant their bulbs along the railroad tracks at the intersection of West Main/Carolina Avenue and Broad Street. The best access to the site is through the city parking area on West Main Street.
For those unable to attend on November 9th, Clinton Canopy offers the option to schedule an earlier planting or to have bulbs planted on their behalf.
Last year’s inaugural event took place on November 11, 2023, at Legion Park, where community members planted daffodils to honor their loved ones. This year, Clinton Canopy continues the tradition of remembrance, bringing hope and beauty to the town of Clinton.
