Most people never think about the wooden platform under a shipment of parts or the crate protecting a piece of equipment on its way across the country. Scott Shiflet thinks about them constantly.
Shiflet owns JRS Woodworks, a family-operated business in Clinton that builds custom crates, skids and pallets for manufacturers, warehouses and distributors across the Upstate and Midlands. He brings more than 30 years of professional carpentry experience to the work, and it shows in a product most customers only notice when it fails.
