Clinton Police Department Conducts Active Shooter Training to Sharpen Response Readiness
June 22, 2025The Clinton Police Department recently conducted an intensive Active Shooter Training session at a local school, reinforcing its commitment to public safety and emergency preparedness. The hands-on training aimed to ensure that officers are equipped to respond quickly and effectively in the event of a critical incident.
The training scenarios, conducted in real school settings, focused on sharpening decision-making, improving response times, and enhancing teamwork under pressure—key skills for handling potential active shooter situations. Officers navigated classrooms, hallways, and other school areas to prepare for the challenges they could face during real emergencies.
“This training is about being ready for the worst while hoping it never happens,” said Chief Michael Addison, Clinton’s Chief of Police. “We owe it to our students, teachers, and community to prepare with urgency and purpose. Your safety is—and always will be—our priority.”
The department extended its appreciation to JT from the Sawmill Training Complex for his support in facilitating the session. His guidance and expertise helped create realistic and impactful training scenarios.
This initiative is one of the many ways the Clinton Police Department continues to demonstrate its ongoing commitment to the community.
