Clinton Red Devils Boys Tennis Team Advances to Upper State Semi-Finals

The Clinton High School boys tennis team continues its strong postseason performance with a 4-2 victory over Chapman High School in the third round of the SCHSL A, AA, and AAA Boys Tennis Championship. With the win, the Red Devils advance to the Upper State Semi-Finals set for Wednesday, May 7.
Led by Head Coach Clovis Simmons, the Red Devils showed dominance in singles play, clinching four of the five individual matches.

The match was hosted by top-seeded Chapman, but the #4 seed Clinton team rose to the challenge, eliminating the Panthers from championship contention.
Clinton’s opponent for the Upper State Semi-Final will be determined following the results of Tuesday’s match between #3 seed Christ Church Episcopal and the winner of today’s rain makeup match between #2 Walhalla and #10 Powdersville. The semi-final will be hosted by the higher-seeded team at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7.
The SCHSL Boys Tennis State Finals for all classifications will be held on Saturday, May 10, at the Cayce Tennis Center in Columbia, SC, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
