Clinton to Pair Summer Concert with Back-to-School Supply Drive Aug. 13

July 19, 2026

The city of Clinton will host a back-to-school celebration Aug. 13 as part of its Thursday summer concert series, combining live music and food with a community effort to help stock local students’ backpacks for the new school year.

The event will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at 122 E. Main St.

The city’s school supply drive is already underway and will continue through the day of the event. Residents can drop off donations early at 211 N. Broad St. or bring them along on the night of the event.

“We’re excited to bring the community together for an event that gives back to our students,” said Amelia Davenport, event coordinator for the city of Clinton. “Every donation helps a Clinton child start the school year ready to learn, and we hope the whole community will come out and be part of it.”

The evening will feature live music from Charlie Michaels, with food available from Boun’s Fire and Rice Hibachi food trailer and Pot Love LLC. City officials said additional vendors will join the lineup.

Organizers are inviting the community to come out, enjoy the music and help fill backpacks in support of Clinton-area students.
