Clinton Youth Makes the Cut for Young Guns Baseball Team from Statewide Tryouts

In August 2022 statewide tryouts were held and three teams were created, the Red, White and Blue Young Guns. Elias Littleton of Clinton made the cut for the White team. He is the son of Dennis and Mary Littleton.
The teams were made up of players from across the state. Scott Reid of Simpsonville (Assistant Coach for Hillcrest High School) was the head coach. The White team coaches were Heath Matthews, Wayne Bagwell, and Bryton Ward.
The three teams and coaches recently traveled to Cooperstown Dreams Park in Cooperstown, New York for a week of baseball. There were 84 teams from across the United States and Canada that participated in a weeklong Tournament.
The Red Young Guns team won the championship. They were ranked #1 all week and remained undefeated in the 10 games that they played. The Blue team was ranked 13 and White team ranked 30 out of the 84 teams.
The White team coaches were Heath Matthews, Wayne Bagwell and Bryton Ward.
