Clinton’s Devil Regiment places third at Tournament of Champions
October 18, 2026
The Clinton High School Devil Regiment brought home a third-place finish in its class Saturday, Oct. 17, at the annual Tournament of Champions, held at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina.
The competition drew marching bands from North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. According to the Clinton band program, it was the largest and most competitive event the Devil Regiment has entered in several years.
Against that field, the Clinton band stood out, drawing attention from spectators and representing the community with pride on its way to a top-three finish.
The trip offered more than a chance to compete. After their performance, band members ate in the university’s dining hall and toured the Western Carolina campus, giving students a firsthand look at college life.
Band leaders said a central goal of the Clinton band program is to give students new, positive experiences and help prepare them for what comes after high school. The program also expressed its gratitude to everyone who helped make the trip possible.
