Clinton’s Lumberyard Hosts Its First Successful Movie Night
July 30, 2023Although the summer heat had other plans, the spirit and excitement prevailed as locals gathered for a cinematic experience at the Lumberyard. The featured film of the evening was the timeless classic “The Sandlot,” delighted the audience and left adults reminiscing about their own childhood adventures.
Originally planned as a “Movie under the Stars” event, the scorching summer temperatures forced a last-minute change, moving the event inside. The setback did little to dampen the enthusiasm of those attending.
The Lumberyard’s owners, Charlie and Stacy Michaels, went the extra mile to ensure the event’s success. Recognizing the importance of offering a quintessential movie experience, they teamed up with Madwig Concessions, who was on hand to provide delectable movie treats from classic buttery popcorn to candy galore.
After the sun set, it was movie time at the Lumberyard. Families, friends, and neighbors gathered, finding seats amidst the rustic charm of the venue. Many were experiencing the Lumberyard for the first time, but it probably won’t be their last.
“The Sandlot” proved to be an excellent choice for the evening, appealing to both young and old alike. The heartwarming story of friendship, camaraderie, and youthful innocence struck a chord with the audience, evoking feelings of nostalgia and fond memories of their own childhood escapades.
“We are very pleased with the turnout for our first movie night,” said Stacey Michaels. “It was nice to meet some new people and we’re really looking forward to hosting more movie nights in the future.”
With cooler weather on the horizon, they intend to return to the original plan of hosting outdoor movie nights. The picturesque setting of the Lumberyard under the stars promises an enchanting cinematic experience.
