Clinton’s Phoebe Carles Takes First for UNC Asheville Golf at William and Mary’s Kingsmill Intercollegiate Tournament

Carles also named Big South Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week
Phoebe Carles, a Senior at UNC Ashville captured the second individual tournament title in Asheville Women’s Golf program history, on Tuesday September 12 and the team finished second overall at William and Mary’s Kingsmill Intercollegiate.
Carles shot 72-72-72 to go even all three rounds, turning in a total of 216 marking the third-lowest 54-hole total in program history. Her performance helped Asheville to a second-place finish in the tournament as the Bulldogs turned in an 899, the fourth-lowest team 54-hole total in program history.
Her performance earned Carles the title of Big South Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week.
This is Carles’ first career Golfer of the Week honor, and second career weekly honor from the Big South (Freshman of the Week – Feb. 11, 2021).
