Coastal Crust opens new restaurant in Columbia’s BullStreet District
August 6, 2026South Carolina-based Coastal Crust officially opened its newest restaurant Tuesday in Columbia’s BullStreet District following a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by city leaders and project developers.
The family-owned restaurant, located at 2158 Pickens St., specializes in authentic Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizzas and Italian-inspired cuisine. The new location welcomed its first customers immediately after the ceremony.
Speakers at the event included Coastal Crust Owner and Operator Brian Piesner, Columbia Mayor Daniel Rickenmann, and Robert Hughes, president and CEO of Hughes Development Corporation, the developer behind the BullStreet District.
Founded in South Carolina, Coastal Crust began as a vintage pizza truck before expanding into multiple restaurant locations across the state. In addition to its restaurants, the company operates a mobile catering business serving weddings, private events and corporate gatherings.
Coastal Crust sources local ingredients whenever possible and focuses on creating family-friendly dining experiences. The BullStreet restaurant marks the company’s latest expansion as development continues in Columbia’s growing mixed-use BullStreet District.
