Former Nuttall Tire Building Gets New Life on Millwood Ave

Colite Technologies, an emerging leader in renewable energy solutions, announced the acquisition of a 15,000 square-foot warehouse building that formerly housed an automotive tire and repair business.  The facility, located at 2405 Millwood Avenue in downtown Columbia, South Carolina, will be renovated to a modern office space and warehouse to serve as the company’s new headquarters as it continues to rapidly expand business across the Southeast.

Relocation to the new building is targeted for the summer of 2024 following the completion of renovations. This move aligns with the company’s growth trajectory ensuring that Colite Technologies continues to meet increasing demand for cutting-edge renewable energy solutions.

“The acquisition of this facility is the next step in our strategy to build a national best-in-class commercial renewable energy business right here in the Midlands” said Kevin O’Hara, Co-founder, President and CEO of Colite Technologies. “All of the ingredients are in place including a marvelous pool of young talent coming out of the University of South Carolina and other local institutions of higher education.  I want to thank the City of Columbia and Richland County for their support in making this a reality. Colite Technologies and this building will be a showcase of what’s possible in Columbia.”

About Colite Technologies

Colite Technologies was founded in 2018 and is dedicated to helping commercial and industrial customers incorporate sustainable energy solutions into their operations.  Our unique portfolio of C&I solar PV systems, off-grid renewable energy powered lighting systems, LED lighting retrofits, and EV charging equipment helps businesses across the US to improve energy efficiency, minimize carbon footprints, and increase energy resilience.  All of our projects are fully turn-key including system design, engineering, installation, and everything in between, by our in-house team based in Columbia, South Carolina.

The seeds of Colite Technologies were originally planted in Colite International, a locally owned global leader in signage and signage services.  It was quickly realized that the market opportunity for sustainable energy solutions warranted a dedicated focus and Colite Technologies was set up as an independent company.  It has experienced significant growth to become a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions across the Southeastern US and beyond.  Colite International will remain in its current Northeast Columbia location in the South Carolina Research Park.
