Colliers International represents seller in antiques store property at major intersection in downtown Columbia

Sale of property indicates growing Blossom/Huger corridor after recent student housing, mixed-use developments

Colliers International’s J.P. Scurry, CCIM and Scottie Smith represented the seller of 602 Huger Street, an approximately 1.5-acre property at the intersection of Huger and Blossom Streets. The intersection has seen a surge of development in recent months, with a brand-new student housing development across the street from 602 Huger and the Palmetto Compress development only a block away. The purchaser has not yet announced plans for the property.

“The surge in multifamily and student housing development downtown is driving increased interest in downtown land corridors like Blossom Street and Huger Street,” said Smith. “With the new apartment complexes bringing more people to this major intersection, which is one of the busiest and most popular in the city, we expect to see new and interesting developments come to the area.”
