According to the 2020 Census, the Charleston metropolitan statistical area (MSA) population has grown from 664,607 in 2010 to 799,636 people in 2020, an increase of 20.32% over the past ten years. The average median household income within the Charleston MSA during 2020 was $69,240 a 44.06% increase over the 2010 average median income of $48,062. In addition, gross retail sales increased by 73.44% from 2010 through 2021.
