Local dry cleaner leases space off of East Bay street
Colliers’ Patrick Nealon represented East Bay Cleaners in leasing a 1,500-square-foot space at 334 East Bay Street in downtown Charleston.
“East Bay Cleaners had a unique set of needs for a new location. It’s very rare in an urban area to find space with a drive-thru and curbside pickup. They needed to find a new space and be able to reopen within two months. We were able to find an off-market space that met their criteria in only two weeks,” said Patrick Nealon, Brokerage Associate with Colliers | South Carolina.
The economic impacts of COVID-19 have driven retailers to provide contactless or low-contact options for their customers. “It was important to us that our new location allowed our customers to feel safe while supporting a local business,” said Sandy Weaver from East Bay Cleaners. “We also wanted to provide convenience to our customers by offering curbside service to avoid the congestion of a busy parking lot. Thanks to Patrick, we are already seeing success at our new location.”
As part of the Retail Services Team, Nealon specializes in sales and leasing transactions for retail properties in the Charleston region and along the South Carolina coast.
