Colliers | South Carolina presents 2023 Innovation Award to accounting staff

Colliers | South Carolina announced that the company’s 2023 Innovation Award was presented to Katie Albright, Paige Jernigan and Rosa Nakasone, members of the company’s accounting staff. The awards were presented at the company’s annual Awards Celebration held at Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia on February 21, 2024.
The Innovation Award recognizes and honors revolutionary actions resulting in incremental or radical advancement in thinking, processes or outcomes while promoting collaboration, service and operational excellence, innovation and fun.
Albright, Jernigan and Nakasone were nominated for the award because of a unique and efficient process they developed for billing workorders for the firm’s Real Estate Management Services (REMS) clients.
“Workorder processing and billing, such as maintenance technician labor and/or materials provided for certain REMS properties, has historically been an extremely laborious, manual task,” said Neil Jones, Executive Vice President and CFO of Colliers | South Carolina. “This team developed a way to extract information from the workorder system and import that information into our accounting software resulting in a net savings of processing time of approximately 50 hours per month. In addition, we are able to bill much more quickly and accurately.”
Albright is a Corporate Accountant primarily responsible for providing corporate financial reporting. Albright is also responsible for managing and streamlining much of the data and applications utilized in corporate and REMS accounting. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, majoring in accounting and corporate finance.
Jernigan is an Accounting & Finance Coordinator, responsible for tenant and corporate billing and processing of payments, performing credit checks for tenants and compiling reports, proposals, budgets and financials. Additionally, she compiles and distributes monthly property management narratives to the company’s clients and provides administrative support to the accounting department. She enjoys giving back to the community through the United Way of the Midlands, Boy Scouts of America, the YMCA of Columbia and a mentoring program.
Nakasone is a Billing and Collections Coordinator, assisting property managers, project managers and the accounting department. She coordinates accounts receivable/billing, receiving direction from project and property managers to deliver on business needs. She also handles the corporate billing and business license tax filings for Colliers | South Carolina and its project management affiliate, LCK. She received an associate degree from College of Micronesia – FSM.
