Collins & Lacy Attorney elected to Kids’ Chance of South Carolina Board of Directors

Collins & Lacy, P.C. announced Ashley Kirkham has been elected to serve on the Kids’ Chance of South Carolina Board of Directors.

Founded in 1992 by members of the workers’ compensation community, Kids’ Chance of South Carolina aims to aid the children of South Carolina workers who have been fatally or catastrophically injured in a work-related accident. Through more than $800,000 in scholarships to this date, Kids’ Chance has allowed these children to pursue their educational dreams without financial burden.

Kirkham’s inaugural event with the organization will be the 3rd Annual Denim and Diamonds Gala held on February 20th. An evening long dinner, awards ceremony, and silent auction to raise scholarship funds for these children, the gala will feature guest speaker Judge Casey Manning and live music by the Summer Daze Band. Kirkham is a Collins & Lacy associate practicing workers’ compensation defense. In addition to her involvement with Kids’ Chance of South Carolina, she volunteers her time at the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division through organizations such as the Special Olympics and through drafting estate planning documents for first responders. Kirkham received her undergraduate degree in political science from Clemson University and earned her Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law.

“I am excited to continue aiding the children of South Carolina workers who have been injured on the job,” said Kirkham. “Alongside my workers’ compensation practice, it is very fulfilling to find another avenue to assist these people, and I look forward to the opportunities and experience this position will bring for me.”
