GREENVILLE, SC – Collins & Lacy, P.C. announced that Matt Brown has joined the firm’s Greenville office. Brown is an associate practicing workers’ compensation defense and employment law.

“As we continue to meet the needs of our clients, Matt’s move to Greenville compliments our on-going strategy to successfully serve the thriving businesses of the Upstate,” said Scott Wallinger, chair of the firm’s management committee.

Brown’s workers’ compensation practice includes representing employers and insurance carriers against claims and disputes statewide. In his employment law practice, his experience includes defending municipalities, school districts, universities, and technical schools in state and federal court against causes of action arising under Title VII, ADA, and 42 U.S.C. § 1983. Brown also has extensive experience with state administrative agency claims. He proactively advises clients on employment policies and procedures, handbooks, and requirements of employees under federal and state law.

Brown majored in Journalism and Mass Communications as an undergraduate of the University of South Carolina and received his Juris Doctor at the Charleston School of Law.

“With the continued growth of Greenville and the Upstate in general, I am excited to assist the businesses here with their workers’ compensation and employment law needs,” said Brown. “Collins & Lacy is a perfect fit, and I look forward to working with such a great team.”
