Collins & Lacy, P.C. Receives Triple Honors in Statewide Communications Awards Program

COLUMBIA, SC – November 8, 2011 – The Collins & Lacy, P.C.Marketing Department received triple recognition for its communicationsprograms during the 2011 Annual Palmetto Awards. The honors included anAward of Excellence in Strategic Communications, an Award of Excellencein Internal Benefits Communications, and an Award of Merit in Online andElectronic Publications.

The South Carolina Chapter of the International Association of BusinessCommunicators (IABC/SC) hosted its annual awards program, the PalmettoAwards, Tuesday November 1, 2011 in Columbia.  Established in 1999, thePalmetto Awards annually recognize outstanding achievements incommunications across the Palmetto State. More than 60 professionalsfrom businesses, government entities and non-profits statewide attendedthis year’s event, during which the Collins & Lacy MarketingDepartment was recognized in the below three categories.

  • Award of Excellence in Strategic Communications Management: TheCollins & Lacy Brand/PR Campaign: The strategic brand / PR campaignto propel the high-quality, boutique-law firm into a statewide presencewas three-fold. It included external branding, internal branding andpublic relations.  In less than a year, the results included aredesigned ad campaign, development and implementation of an internalgraphic style guide, as well as a public relations push that netted 137print mentions, 24 television segments or stories, and 32 radiointerviews.
  • Award of Excellence in Internal Benefits Communications: TheCollins & Lacy Live Well 24/7 Campaign:  Collins & Lacy’swellness program “Live Well 24/7” sought to improve the firm’s healthand happiness while addressing the growing statewide issue of obesityfrom a business leader’s standpoint.  For less than $500, Collins &Lacy launched a wellness program resulting in 100.5 pounds lost, ninemillion steps taken and increased morale firm-wide.
  • Award of Merit in Online and Electron Communications: Workers’ Compensation Quarterly Redesign: The Collins & Lacymarketing department recognized an opportunity to showcase itspower-house workers’ compensation team by redesigning its electronicnewsletter, Workers’ Compensation Quarterly. The redesigned editionresulted in an open rate of 32.6 percent and a click-through rate of 48percent, more than doubling the click-through rate of the previousedition.
