Colonial Life names three new leaders to support customer experience

Three new leaders have been named to help lead Colonial Life’ efforts to serve millions of policyholders and their family members.

Stephanie Ek, Annette Hill and Tariq Mirza will lead teams that provide compassion and expertise to support customers during unexpected events in their lives.

Ek has been named vice president of Colonial Life’s Account Services organization. Previously, she served 24 years in elevated leadership roles within claims, sales and customer service at National Guardian Life Insurance Company, QBE Insurance, Nationwide Insurance and Allied Insurance. Ek is a graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University, where she received a bachelor of science degree in finance.

A Colonial Life veteran of nearly seven years, Hill has been named vice president in the company’s Claims and Contact Center. She previously served as an assistant vice president in Account Services.  Prior to joining Colonial Life in 2013, she spent more than 10 years leading operations at Medical Mutual and Carolina Care Plan. Annette is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where she received a bachelor of science in psychology.

A 20-year veteran of leading customer service teams in the consumer and financial industries, Mirza joins Colonial Life as assistant vice president, leading the company’s Contact Center. He previously served in leadership roles with MassMutual, Victra, Walmart, Maple Leaf Foods, Rogers Communications and Sun Life Financial. Tariq has a proven track record for building best-in-class customer service organizations while at the same time ensuring high employee engagement and driving digital adoption to ensure delivery of superior business results. He holds a bachelor of science degree in computer science from York University and an MBA from the University of Toronto.
