COLUMBIA, SC – The Columbia Regional Sports Council (CRSC) is proud to assist the Color Vibe 5K Run/ Walk on June 13 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at River Bluff High School in Lexington, S.C.

Gaining international popularity, the Color Vibe is a vibrant 5K fun run that tie-dyes participants from head-to-toe and culminates in a colorful dance party. A family-friendly event, children under 12 run for free, races are not timed and proceeds benefit Patty Packs, an Irmo-based organization that helps families affected by prolonged stays in pediatric intensive care units due to chronic heart disease.

“We are excited to bring such a fun race to Lexington County that will showcase the beautiful, new campus of River Bluff High School and encourage a healthy lifestyle among students, families and friends,” said Grayson Hopp, sales manager for the Columbia Regional Sports Council.

Critical to the organization of this race, the CRSC assembled all relevant parties, including beneficiary Patty Packs and host location, River Bluff High School. The sports council also mapped the race route and approached The Color Vibe’s national race organizers, pitching Lexington and the Columbia metro as a great addition to their national tour. The CRSC continues to assist with logistical needs, contacting local vendors and securing volunteers.

The Color Vibe joins a growing lineup of races in Lexington, including the inaugural Lexington Half Marathon and 5K this past December. Upcoming area races include the Colors to End Duchenne on May 16, Jailbreak 5k onMay 23, Red Bank 5K on May 30 and Run Ella Run Memorial 5K on June 6.
