Columbia Chamber announces honorees for 2023 Columbia Impact Awards

Ten Recognized for Outstanding Achievements During 9th Annual Columbia Impact Awards

The Columbia Chamber announced the recipients of the annual Columbia Impact Awards. The 2023 Columbia Impact Awards, presented by BlueCross® BlueShield® of South Carolina, will be held March 8th at Segra Park, in conjunction with the Chamber’s Breakfast Briefing event. Tickets are now available.

“The 2023 Columbia Impact Awards recognize the outstanding local businesses and individuals that work to make Columbia a better place to live, play and do business,” said Carl Blackstone, Columbia Chamber President and CEO. “The Columbia Chamber is excited to bring this once virtual event back in-person.”

The Columbia Chamber will recognize the following:

The Cathy Novinger Trailblazer Award honors an individual who has shown exemplary leadership in his/her industry, advocates for business, and positively impacts our community. The 2023 recipient is Ben Arnold.

The Small Business of the Year Award recognizes a Chamber Partner who has shown great growth, significant achievements, or realized economic and cultural growth that benefits the business community. The 2023 recipient is Sun Solutions.

The Diversity & Inclusion Award celebrates a Partner that goes above and beyond to create a diverse work environment by breaking the glass ceiling. The 2023 recipient is Mark Anthony Brewing.

The Hospitality Industry Award celebrates those who help make Columbia a world-class place to live, work, and visit by recognizing Partners in the hospitality industry – from restaurants and tourist attractions, to transportation companies, hotels, and event facilities. The 2023 recipient is Experience Columbia SC.

The Workforce Development Award honors Partners that are working to create innovative workforce development strategies in an effort to retain a dynamic, resilient, and highly skilled workforce equipped for meeting current industry needs within the greater Midlands region. The 2023 recipient is AECOM.

The Golden Nail Award is bestowed upon businesses or property owners for exemplary contributions to the physical character of the greater Midlands region through cosmetic or commercial means such as restoration of a façade, historic building, or re-purposing of a blighted space during the previous calendar year. 2023 recipients include: The Cambria Hotel, 1813 Main, 5th & Sloan, The Palms 1101 and WestLawn.
