Columbia College welcomes Vice President of Advancement

COLUMBIA, SC – Columbia College has appointment Francis Schodowski as Vice President for Advancement. He will serve as the Chief Advancement Officer and is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive institutional advancement programs for annual fund, major gifts, planned gifts, endowment, capital campaigns, advancement services, and alumnae and constituent relations.

Prior to joining Columbia College, Schodowski worked as Associate Vice President of Advancement for Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa., and served as a member of the president’s senior staff.

Preceding his post at LVC, Schodowski served as Interim Assistant Vice President of Alumni and Development, Interim Executive Foundation Director, and Director of Planned Giving with Millersville University in Pennsylvania. His achievements include leadership in a successful comprehensive campaign that raised more than $88 million. In addition, Francis led substantial growth in giving society memberships and annual gift revenue, and doubled the growth of the foundation’s endowment.

Columbia College President Beth Dinndorf said “Schodowski brings an unprecedented depth of knowledge and expertise. I am delighted to welcome him to the executive team and our campus community.”

Schodowski earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration/marketing from Elizabethtown College, and holds an MBA from Alvernia University. He is a Certified Fund-raising Executive (International) and has presented fund-raising techniques at globally-recognized conferences.

Schodowski began his new role July 1.
