Columbia Heart welcomes Dr. James Ryan Altman as its newest physician

Columbia Heart welcomes Dr. Ryan Altman as the newest member of the practice!  With the addition of Dr. Altman, a native of Andrews, SC, Columbia Heart continues to expand its presence in the Midlands and surrounding communities.  Columbia Heart is the largest independent, physician owned cardiology practice in the Midlands.   Providing comprehensive preventive, interventional, and electrophysiology care, Columbia Heart remains the area’s leader in specialty heart care. Dr. Altman is an experienced, board certified interventional cardiologist who will be performing catheter based procedures and seeing patients in Columbia and in outlying clinics.

Dr. Altman graduated from the College of Charleston with a degree in Biology, before attending the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He completed a residency inInternal Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, followed by fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease at the University of Florida Health and Interventional Cardiology at Scott and White Hospital. Prior to joining Columbia Heart, Dr. Altman practiced Interventional Cardiology in Pawley’s Island and taught as a Clinical Assistant Professor at MUSC. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology.
