Columbia Opportunity Resource issues call for artists for 6th annual Time for Art Gala

August 15, 2019

Columbia Opportunity Resource (COR) is seeking artists to submit their work to the 6th annual Time for Art Gala, to be held Saturday, November 23 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Columbia Museum of Art.

Time for Art connects the arts, business and nonprofit communities throughout the Midlands for an evening to network and celebrate each other. The event features a unique silent auction which allows COR members and other business professionals to bid on artwork with volunteer hours instead of money. Attendees are also exposed to selected local nonprofit agencies with consistent volunteer opportunities that winning bidders may serve to complete their committed hours.

In 2018, 1,679 volunteer service hours were committed, a new record for this event, for a financial equivalent of $41,454.51 invested back into the Midlands community.

The goals of the event are to 1) increase awareness of and networking opportunities for the local arts community to interact with the business community, 2) increase awareness of and networking opportunities for the local nonprofit community to interact with the business community, and 3) generate more than 1,700 committed service hours – the financial equivalent of $43,2311 back into the Midlands.

To apply to be a featured artist, please apply by Sunday, September 15: https://forms.gle/2cfxn81HjSbhbRwQ6

Tickets to Time for Art will go on sale in September. For sponsorship and event information, please visit: www.timeforartcolumbica.com.
