Columbia QuadSquad Rollergirls to host Demolition City and Jet City in March Badness season opener

February 24, 2016

Columbia’s nationally ranked roller derby league, the Columbia QuadSquad Rollergirls, are assembling for their 2016 opening bouts. The Columbia Allstars (43) will host the Demolition City (30) and Jet City (59) in the events on Saturday, March 5 and 6 at Skate Station USA. After a dishearteningly close loss by one point to Jet City during Division 2 playoffs in 2015. The Allstars are preparing tirelessly with the intent to avenge last year’s result. The Miss B-havers will also take on Demolition City’s Destruction Dames on March 5.

With other challengers like Tampa’s fierce Tantrums and Pittsburgh’s Steel Hurtin’, 2016 promises to be a tough but exciting year for the QuadSquad. The team intends to give every opponent a FIGHT they won’t soon forget. With numerous returning Allstars, the ladies look forward to having strength with experience. Jammers, such as Holly Hunter, Tiffany ‘Poison Violet’ Quick, Kid Rock and Do U Juana, will lead the charge with lively, steady feet snatching up every accessible point. Chuck,  Sour Hour, Agent Cherry Maim’Her, Meg Riot, Rox Anne Stones, Roxy Rampage, Barney Rebel, Starspangled BanGRR, and Creecher all take to the track to make up a formidable group of blockers.

About The Columbia QuadSquad Rollergirls

The Columbia QuadSquad Rollergirls is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit sports organization formed in 2007. Since 2007, the league has been comprised of  hardworking women and men that strive for excellence in the sport of Roller Derby and expand the knowledge of roller derby in the Columbia area. If you haven’t heard, roller derby is the fastest growing sport in the world with a 2,000% increase in participants since its rebirth in 2005. Since becoming a member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) in 2011, CQS remained a community involved, tournament eligible, top 50 team. In addition to being active in the roller derby community, the ladies have been involved with many community nonprofits, such as Girls On The Run, and can often be found volunteering throughout our fair city.
