Columbia Sertoma Club Brings Together Gamecock Fans, BBQ Lovers, and Local Charities For Tailgate Fundraiser

COLUMBIA, SC – The Columbia Sertoma Club will host its 8th annual Tailgate Party for Charity on September 20th, 2014, for the University of South Carolina versus Vanderbilt football game.
The event will involve Columbia residents, local businesses, and local non-profits, and serves to raise funds for numerous Columbia charities and provide a fun environment for USC fans to watch the mighty Gamecocks play. In the past the fundraiser has attracted more than 500 participants.
This year’s event, held at The Coop (1100 Key Rd, Columbia SC 29201), will be sponsored by Jaguar and Range Rover of Columbia, and host a cook off among four celebrity chefs, including Jimmy Clark, 20-year pit master of the Flying J Smokers, Scott Webber, pit master for High Voltage Smokin Butts, Ronnie Timmons, pit master, Ronnie’s Ribs in Elgin, and Scott Thomson, Vintage Swine pit master. In addition to the southern cuisine, the event will be host to top shelf drinks, corn hole contests, music, and more, all included in the admission price. The football game will be shown on large-screen televisions.
In the past the event has donated funds to local charities such as SisterCare, Home Works of Columbia, Sexual Trauma Services, Palmetto Baseball League, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, the SC Speech and hearing Association Foundation, Camp Sertoma, and Interfaith Thanksgiving Dinner, to name a few.
Tickets to the event cost $30 for a single ticket or $50 for two tickets.
