Community Foundation to Hold 25th Anniversary Celebration

COLUMBIA, SC – September 9, 2009 – Central Carolina Community Foundation is marking its 25th Anniversary with a celebration on Thursday, September 17, 6:30 p.m. at Leaside to recognize our Society of Founders. These donors envisioned a permanent endowment that would meet the charitable needs of our community. The evening will consist of cocktails, heavy hors d’oeuvres and music from the last 25 years. The Community Foundation serves 11 counties in the Midlands by distributing grants and scholarships and linking the resources of donors, nonprofits and community leaders to areas of need. Over the last quarter century, the Community Foundation has invested over $56 million into the community through more than 9,300 grants and scholarships. The nonprofit organizations we support cover many fields of interest from the arts and education to health and the environment. This flexibility allows us to serve donors with diverse interests and a wide variety of nonprofit organizations. We are able to do this only because of the generosity and trust of our donors.
The Community Foundation
The Community Foundation works with individuals, families, businesses and organizations to create permanent charitable funds that address the needs in our community. The Foundation is responsible for investing these funds and distributing grants as recommended by our donors. We also award competitive grants to meet the needs within our service area.
