Community rallies behind Saint Frances Animal Center amid crucial rescue effort

July 13, 2026

The community is stepping up in a massive way for the Saint Frances Animal Center, which is currently navigating a major influx of animals rescued from a local residence. With more than 100 dogs currently under their care, the shelter has been a whirlwind of activity as dedicated staff and volunteers work around the clock to provide medical attention, food, and comfort to the rescued animals.

Local businesses have immediately answered the call to help ease the financial strain of the operation. Among them, the Positively Primeval Cocktail Company recently stepped up by donating 100% of the proceeds from their St Francis Blueberry Margarita sales, successfully raising $1,060 for the shelter. Other businesses coming to the nonprofit’s support include Hop Garden which provided meals for Saint Frances staff and volunteers, and Corner Tavern plans to donate 20% of its sales on Tuesday, July 14 between 6:00 and 9:00 pm.

A Shift to Monetary Donations

While the initial surge of physical donations—such as dog food and supplies—has been overwhelming, shelter officials state that their needs have now pivotally shifted.

“We are running out of space to store donated items at the shelter, while the ongoing care of more than 100 dogs continues to create significant expenses,” the center shared in a recent update on its Facebook page.

Because the physical storage space is entirely full, monetary donations are now the most critical need. Financial support allows the shelter to remain agile, ensuring funds go directly toward veterinary care, specialized medicine, and immediate operational expenses.
