Conservation Bank Board selects David Jones to lead agency

The South Carolina Conservation Bank announced that the Board has selected David Jones as the agency’s next executive director. His  appointment is pending confirmation by the South Carolina Senate.  

Jones currently serves as General Counsel for the South Carolina Forestry Commission (SCFC), where he has worked extensively on state land acquisition projects, interagency  partnerships, legislative aOairs, FOIA compliance, and governance issues, while helping  guide some of South Carolina’s largest conservation initiatives. 

“Mr. Jones possesses not only a deep technical understanding of complex real estate  transactions but also has a passion for conserving South Carolina’s special places,” said  Dr. Peter King, chair, South Carolina Conservation Bank Board. “We are pleased with our  selection, and we are looking forward to Senate confirmation.” 

Jones will remain in his current role at SCFC until confirmed by the Senate in early 2027.
