Hunter Sox to serve as State Director; Murray, Fontaine, & Carr Take on New Roles

Conservatives for Clean Energy South Carolina (CCE-SC) announced a series of leadership updates as the organization continues to expand its presence and impact across the state.

Hunter Sox will serve as State Director, leading efforts to advance conservative, market-based energy policies that promote reliability, economic growth, and American energy independence. Current State Director Nick Murray will transition to the role of Senior Advisor, supporting long-term strategy and stakeholder engagement.

Grant Fontaine will step into the role of Communications Director, and Sam Carr will join as Projects Director, strengthening the organization’s ability to execute stakeholder engagement, legislative education, and outreach efforts statewide.

CCE-SC works to educate policymakers and the public on the benefits of an all-of-the-above energy strategy, including nuclear energy as a key component. As energy demand rises due to population growth, advanced manufacturing, and emerging technologies, the organization remains focused on policies that support long-term growth, competition, and reliability.

Sox previously served as Communications Director and has been involved with CCE-SC since 2023, helping lead stakeholder engagement, legislative outreach, and high-impact events.

“Hunter has been instrumental in building CCE-SC’s presence across South Carolina and understands how to communicate the importance of reliable, affordable energy within a conservative framework,” said Nick Murray. “As we continue building a strong team—with Grant and Sam stepping into key roles—CCE-SC is well-positioned to advance policies that support reliable, affordable, American-made energy and guide the organization forward.”

“I’m honored to step into this role and build on the strong foundation established by Nick and the team,” said Sox. “South Carolina is at a pivotal moment, and I look forward to working with our team to advocate for solutions that keep our state competitive and our energy system strong.”
