‘Content Camp’ invites communicators to learn, connect, explore future-ready digital content strategy skills this summer

The popular content strategy learning events series Content for the People, hosted by Words First Content Strategy, will welcome business communicators, content professionals, and anyone interested in building future-proof digital communications skills to a week-long, interactive virtual summer camp experience this July.

Each day of Content Camp, attendees will convene for 90 minutes over lunch for interactive explorations and collaborative activities designed to build new content skills and strategies for the future of communications. Each day’s activities will center around a different content theme, to help communicators build a well-rounded and expanded digital skill set across multiple areas of communications during the week’s camp sessions.

“Communicators want to elevate their digital content strategy skills to stay relevant, competitive, and in-touch about emerging technologies and digital strategies,” says Bailey Lewis, founder of Words First and host of Content for the People. “Unfortunately, most of the offerings available for them to do so are dry, repetitive, or not especially future-facing.

“As a fellow communicator who forged my role in digital leadership by building a diverse and human-centric skill set,” Lewis also says, “I want to bring these in-demand skills and strategies to other communicators. And, I want to do so in a way that’s fun—with formats and discussions and interactions that feel expansive and unexpected, not like traditional professional development training.”

As with any summer camp, attendees will leave each day and the week as a whole with new creations, stories, and connections to inspire and enhance their daily work and overall career long after summer is over. Themes and takeaways range from the psychology of effective content to creating compelling stories to digital accessibility principles, AI prompts, and more.

Camp sessions will be hosted live via Zoom for attendees to join from wherever they are this summer, and to connect with professionals from all over. Attendees also have the option to attend a local, in-person showcase evening the Friday of camp week (7/19) in downtown Columbia, South Carolina.

The Preview Day will offer a taste of the camp experience and touch on one of the themes of the week, with a special discounted ticket offer for those who attend the preview.
