Cool Treats and Safety IDs: Polar Patrol and KidPrint Event Coming to Laurens this Friday

June 9, 2025

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office is bringing summer fun and family safety to the community this Friday, June 13, with a special Polar Patrol and KidPrint event at the South Harper Family Dollar, located at 1070 South Harper Street in Laurens.

From 1:00 to 2:00 PM, children and families are invited to stop by for a free ice cream treat and the opportunity to receive a KidPrint ID card—a valuable safety tool that includes a child’s photo, fingerprints, physical description, and emergency contact information.

The Polar Patrol, the Sheriff’s Office’s custom ice cream truck, delivers more than just frozen treats. It brings deputies face-to-face with the community in a relaxed, friendly setting that encourages relationship-building and trust. By request from the Family Dollar team, the Polar Patrol is making this special stop to serve the South Harper area.

“This event is a great opportunity for families to swing by and say hello, grab a cool treat, and take advantage of a simple but important safety resource,” said Courtney Snow, Public Information Officer for the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office. “We appreciate Family Dollar for inviting us and look forward to seeing our community there.”

The Polar Patrol and KidPrint initiative continues to be a favorite among Laurens County families, offering a unique blend of community outreach, safety education, and good old-fashioned fun.

No registration is required—just stop by the South Harper Family Dollar this Friday between 1:00 and 2:00 PM and enjoy!
