Cooper Motor Company launches Fill a Jeep food drive to fight hunger in Clinton

Cooper Motor Company is inviting the community to help drive hunger out of Clinton with its Fill a Jeep Food Drive, running Sept. 15 through Nov. 6.

The Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram dealership, which has served the area since 1938, is collecting nonperishable food with a goal of packing a Jeep full of donations for local families in need.

Requested items include canned goods, boxed foods, pasta and rice (including ramen noodles), peanut butter and pet food. Donations can be dropped off at the Cooper Motor Company sales building, 305 E. Main St. in Clinton.

“Cooper Motor Company has been part of this community since 1938, and we know how much our neighbors look out for one another,” said Chip Cooper of Cooper Motor Company. “Our goal is to help drive a hunger-free community. Every can, every box and every bag adds up, and together we can fill more than a Jeep. We can fill lives.”

Cooper said the drive is an easy way for anyone to make a difference close to home.

“You don’t have to do a lot to help a lot,” Cooper said. “Pick up a few extra items on your next grocery run and drop them by. If everyone does a little, we’ll have that Jeep filled in no time.”

Pet food is included on the list of needed items so that families can also care for the animals in their homes.

Individuals, businesses, churches and civic groups are encouraged to organize their own collections and bring them to the dealership before the drive wraps up Nov. 6.
