Country music band Diamond Rio to headline free concert in downtown Spartanburg

April 27, 2023

Special event to be held in conjunction with the annual BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX and presented by The Johnson Group

South Carolina Charities, Inc. (SCCI), the non-profit foundation of the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX, is pleased to announce that legendary country music group Diamond Rio will perform on Morgan Square in downtown Spartanburg on Tuesday, June 6th at 7:30 pm. The Johnson Group is the presenting sponsor of this event and admission is free to the public.

“We are thrilled to bring this event back to Spartanburg for the second year in a row,” said Bob Nitto, president of South Carolina Charities, Inc. “The BMW Charity Pro-Am is not only about golf but also about giving back to our community and creating memorable experiences. We’re grateful for the support of The Johnson Group in making this concert possible.”

Diamond Rio, a six-time Vocal Group of the Year winner and Grand Ole Opry member, is known for their chart-topping hits such as “Meet in the Middle,” “One More Day,” and “Beautiful Mess.” The Spartanburg performance is part of Diamond Rio’s 2023 tour and follows last year’s concert featuring the Marshall Tucker Band, which was also organized by the BMW Charity Pro-Am and presented by The Johnson Group.

Geordy Johnson, CEO of The Johnson Group, expressed the company’s excitement about partnering with the tournament and sponsoring the Diamond Rio concert. “We are proud to be a part of the BMW Charity Pro-Am and help bring this fantastic event to the Spartanburg community,” said Johnson. “The concert is a great opportunity for people to come together and enjoy some incredible music while also supporting South Carolina charities and contributing to the overall growth and prosperity of our city.”

While the concert is free to the public, VIP tickets with special access to Delaney’s Irish Pub will be available for purchase via the tournament website.

The 2023 BMW Charity Pro-Am will return to Thornblade Club and The Carolina Country Club June 5-11. To learn more about the tournament, special events and featured charities, visit www.bmwcharitygolf.com.
