Laurens County Council met for a called meeting on Tuesday, March 30th to discuss employment matters.

After more than an hour in executive session Council returned and voted to terminate the contract of Jon Caime as County Administrator.  Voting to terminate the contract were chairman, Patterson, and council members Jeff Carroll, David Tribble and Garrett McDaniel. Voting no were council members Diane Anderson, Kemp Younts and Luke Rankin.

Dale Satterfield, public works director, will continue to serve as the Acting County Administrator, a role he has served in since Caime has been out on administrative leave.

“Mr. Caime has worked for the County since May of 2016, I appreciate all he has done for Laurens County and wish him well in future endeavors,” said Chairman Patterson.  “Council will discuss at the next regular meeting how we will move forward with the hiring process for a new county administrator.”
