County Council to talk transportation, land development at annual retreat

With five new Councilmembers at the helm, Richland County Council will begin setting priorities for 2021 on Thursday, Jan. 28, the first day of its annual retreat.

Among the topics on the two-day agenda are transportation and a rewrite of the County’s Land Development Code.

Though the retreat, which will be at the Township Auditorium in downtown Columbia, is not open to the public, most segments will stream live via Richland County’s YouTube page.

Thursday’s agenda includes presentations on the following topics:

  • Administrator form of government overview
  • Ethics
  • County fiscal update
  • A review of the state of the County
  • Transportation program update

The agenda for Friday, Jan. 29 includes a presentation on the Land Development Code rewrite.

Following its retreat, County Council’s next regularly scheduled meeting is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9.
