December 6, 2019

Countybank and Greenwood Capital donated 47,002 as part of their annual campaign to United Way of Greenville County. Associates from both organizations made personal pledge donations totaling $37,002 as part of the employee campaign, while the Countybank Foundation provided an additional campaign contribution of $10,000.

“The incredible generosity from the team at Countybank and Greenwood Capital will change so many individual lives and strengthen our entire community in the process,” said United Way of Greenville County President and CEO Meghan Barp. “We are proud to partner with them to build a Greenville County where everyone can thrive.”

Dollars raised in the campaign will support United Way’s work to build a Cycle of Success for all in Greenville County, which includes strategic investments in more than 100 programs and initiatives addressing basic needs, education, and financial stability. Each year, United Way investments touch the lives of 100,000 people in Greenville County.

“This year’s annual campaign results exceeded last year’s donations by more than $11,000, which shows Countybank and Greenwood Capital’s ongoing commitment to United Way of Greenville County and the Upstate community,” said Lisa Gilstrap, Mortgage Consultant with Countybank Mortgage, who also leads Countybank’s campaign efforts.

Countybank and Greenwood Capital hold an annual campaign that gives associates the opportunity to support the community with United Way of Greenville County. The organizations also host a monthly “Casual for a Cause” fundraiser, where associates can dress business casual the first Friday of each month in exchange for a donation to United Way.

“Partnering with United Way of Greenville County allows our associates to be involved and invested in how we as an organization give back to our community,” said Ken Harper, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of Countybank, who also serves on the Board of Directors for United Way of Greenville County. “United Way has such a positive impact across the Greenville area, and we’re proud to support that effort.”
