Countybank and Greenwood Capital donated $48,385 as part of their annual campaign to United Way of Greenville County. Associates from both organizations made personal pledge donations totaling $38,385 as part of the employee campaign, while the Countybank Foundation provided an additional campaign contribution of $10,000.

“2020 has been a challenging year for so many in our community, which makes financial support from organizations like Countybank and Greenwood Capital even more important,” said United Way of Greenville County President and CEO Meghan Barp. “Because of their generosity, we will be there to ensure all people in Greenville County have access to opportunities to achieve their full potential.”

Dollars raised in the campaign will support United Way’s work to mobilize people and resources to improve lives, strengthen the community, and advance equity for the benefit of all. Donations support more than 70 programs and initiatives addressing basic needs, education, and economic mobility.

“This year’s annual campaign results exceeded 2019’s donations by more than $10,000, which demonstrates Countybank and Greenwood Capital’s ongoing commitment to United Way of Greenville County and the Upstate community,” said Lisa Gilstrap, Mortgage Consultant with Countybank Mortgage, who also leads Countybank’s Upstate campaign efforts.

Countybank and Greenwood Capital hold an annual campaign that gives associates the opportunity to support the community through the United Way of Greenville County. The organizations also host a monthly “Casual for a Cause” fundraiser, where associates can dress business casual the first Friday of each month in exchange for a donation to United Way. This year’s Casual for a Cause donations have already exceeded last year’s amount.

“Partnering with United Way of Greenville County allows our associates to be invested in how we as an organization give back to our community,” said Ken Harper, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of Countybank, who also serves on the Board of Directors for United Way of Greenville County. “United Way has such a positive impact across the Greenville area, and we’re especially proud to support that effort this year.”
