Countybank Foundation awards scholarships to Lander and PTC students

May 11, 2022

The Countybank Foundation, established in 1971 representing Countybank and Greenwood Capital, recently awarded scholarships to Lander University and Piedmont Technical College (PTC) students.

The Countybank Foundation annually provides scholarships to Lander and PTC students from Greenwood County based on academic record, financial need, and faculty recommendations. This year’s scholarship recipients included Adam Frosceno from Lander and Nathanial Thomas and Tiffany Evans from PTC.

The Countybank Foundation Business Scholarship has been extended to Lander students for the past 50 years. Scholarships are awarded to students who are enrolled in Lander’s business administration program.

“I would like to thank Countybank and Greenwood Capital for their long time and continued support on behalf of Lander University,” said Mike Worley, Vice President of University Advancement for Lander University. “This generosity helps ease the financial burden and create a path to an affordable and accessible education in order for students to reach their academic goals and full potential.”

Private support from donors, like Countybank, is critical for the future success of our students who will make an impact in South Carolina and beyond.
The Countybank Foundation Scholarship at PTC is awarded to second semester students with a 3.0 GPA who are enrolled in the university’s technology, accounting, business administration, or office management programs.

“Nearly every day on campus, I get the privilege of seeing this generosity in action,” said Fran Wiley, Associate Vice President of the PTC Foundation. “I get to see the light in the eyes of scholarship recipients and the fire in their spirit to learn and succeed. It never gets old. We are so grateful that Countybank and Greenwood Capital make it possible.”

“We are pleased to continue our ongoing partnership with Lander University and Piedmont Technical College and proudly to present this year’s Countybank Foundation scholarships to Adam, Nathanial, and Tiffany, who represent high-achieving students in the Greenwood community,” said David Tompkins, Greenwood Market Executive for Countybank.
