The Countybank Foundation, established in 1971 representing Countybank and Greenwood Capital, donated $1,000 to the Kiwanis Club of Simpsonville. The donation will be used to purchase supplies to support the Terrific Kids program at two schools in the Golden Strip area.

“I’m honored that Countybank and Greenwood Capital are willing to support an organization and cause that are important to me,” said Jack Lucas, Simpsonville Market Executive for Countybank and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Simpsonville. “The future leadership of our local communities will one day be led by today’s youth, and this contribution will help build character in some of those future leaders.”

The Kiwanis Club of Simpsonville is a local group of volunteers dedicated to changing the Simpsonville and surrounding area one child and one community at a time. The club supports several causes, including health and nutrition, education and literacy, and youth leadership development.

Kiwanis also created Terrific Kids, a student recognition program that promotes character development, self-esteem, and perseverance. As part of the program, students work with their classroom teacher and establish goals to improve behavior, peer relationships, attendance, or schoolwork.

“Many local schools are able participate in the Terrific Kids program with help from the Kiwanis Club of Simpsonville and supporting organizations like Countybank and Greenwood Capital,” said Whitney Ferguson, President of the Kiwanis Club of Simpsonville. “These programs help students with character development, self-esteem, and perseverance.”
