Countybank Foundation makes “over the top” gift to Self Regional Healthcare Foundation

March 9, 2020

Just six weeks after the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation celebrated its 35th anniversary, Countybank Foundation, on behalf of Countybank and Greenwood Capital Associates, has made a gift of $150,000 to lift the Foundation over its minimum fundraising goal for the Our Vision is 2020 Campaign.

“We cannot thank Countybank and Greenwood Capital Associates enough for this very generous gift. We are celebrating SRHC Foundation’s 35th anniversary and Countybank Foundation has been a steadfast supporter since our inception in 1985. Countybank and Greenwood Capital Associates have contributed more than $650,000 to help SRHC Foundation meet Greenwood and the Lakelands region’s healthcare needs. What a fitting way to honor Countybank and Greenwood Capital Associates’ past and ongoing support,” said Ken Coffey, Executive Director of the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation.

“Our organizations strongly believe having a premier locally-owned healthcare system like SRHC in our community not only benefits every business, large and small, but most importantly every person in our region. We are thrilled to be in a position to invest in what we believe is one of the Lakelands’ most important assets,” said R. Thornwell Dunlap III, President and CEO of Countybank.

With just nine months left in the Foundation’s Our Vision is 2020 Campaign, the Foundation will continue its efforts to raise gifts for the Childbirth Center, the Surgery Center, and the Emergency Department renovation that will begin later this spring. “When we launched the Our Vision is 2020 Campaign in 2016, the Foundation and its six fundraising Committees agreed to a minimum goal of raising $7.5 million (and a stretch goal of $10 million) for the three aforementioned mission critical projects. Frankly, we were a little nervous about setting such an aggressive goal. However, thanks to the amazing support we have received from individuals, businesses, other Foundations like the Self Family Foundation, and our friends at Countybank and Greenwood Capital Associates, the $10 million stretch goal is within reach as we sprint to the September 30th finish line for this campaign,” said Laine Orcutt, chair of the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Board of Trustees.

The Foundation and its six fund development Committees strive to provide service and education about healthcare in our community, recognition of individuals, businesses, and other foundations that make gifts to the Foundation, and ultimately increase cash, pledges, and deferred gifts to improve healthcare in Greenwood and the Lakelands region.
