Countybank promotes David Tompkins to Commercial Banking Manager

Countybank announced that David Tompkins has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Manager. In this leadership position, he will be responsible for the overall management and strategic vision of the commercial banking department for Greenwood, Greenville, Greer, Simpsonville, and Anderson markets.

Tompkins began his career with Countybank in 1996 where he served in retail customer service. Since then, he has provided extensive commercial lending service and leadership. Tompkins most recently served as Greenwood Market Executive for Countybank where he managed all facets of retail and commercial lending for Greenwood and surrounding areas, including the marketing of bank products and services and portfolio administration.

“During his 27 years with Countybank, David has shown tremendous leadership and dedication to the bank,” said Ken Harper, Chief Banking Officer for Countybank. “David is well known in the Greenwood community and has been an integral part of the Countybank family. We are excited to welcome him into this critical leadership role.”

Tompkins holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lander University and is a graduate of the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania, with a Wharton Leadership Certificate. He currently serves on the boards of Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont, Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont Foundation, and Piedmont Technical Foundation. Tompkins previously served as board chair for Self Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees, Greenwood Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Greenwood Family YMCA. He is a member of the Greenwood Rotary Club.
