CresCom Bank Spreads Goodwill, Donates $10,000 to Water Missions International

October 17, 2014

CHARLESTON, SC – This October, CresCom Bank donated $10,000 to Water Missions International, a nonprofit Christian engineering organization that provides sustainable safe water and sanitation solutions for people in developing countries.

The donation is the result of the bank’s recognition for the nonprofit’s good works, as well as Dr. Jeff Deal’s efforts throughout the world. Dr. Deal is the nonprofit’s director of health studies and also is a member of the bank’s board of directors.

Most recently, Dr. Deal has spent time in West Africa working to train aid workers on how to use his new ultraviolet light-emitting robot that can clean materials and equipment exposed to the Ebola virus. This is of particular importance as treatment centers and clinics continue to see a rise in those infected and patients with possible symptoms. Dr. Deal has also been instrumental in getting water systems to the Ebola stricken countries once on site in West Africa.

“Although Water Missions International responds globally, our work would not be possible without the support from our local community such as this generous donation from CresCom Bank,” said Rogers Hook, Executive VP, Volunteer and Investor Partnerships, WMI.

“We are very appreciative for all of the valuable work that Water Missions does,” said David L. Morrow, CresCom Bank CEO. “Through our donation, we also wish to show our support for Dr. Deal’s many good works and contributions to improving the overall health of our world’s citizens.”

CresCom Bank also regularly contributes to a variety of charities, both locally and statewide, as its way of ‘paying it forward’ to the communities it calls home.
