Crews Subaru raises $39,112 for lowcountry food bank through its annual Share the Love event

The Lowcountry Food Bank (LCFB) announced today that it received $39,112 from Crews Subaru to help feed Lowcountry neighbors who experience food insecurity.
The donation was made through Crews Subaru’s annual Share the Love event, which is Subaru’s initiative to make the world a better place and a commitment to show love and respect to the customers and communities they serve.
Through the Subaru of America Love Promise Program, Subaru and its 634 retailers across the country began making donations to food banks beginning in the summer of 2020.
In addition to the $39,112 donated last month, Crews Subaru of Charleston has donated more than $250,000 to Lowcountry Food Bank since 2020. Crews Subaru has also held food drives and packed food boxes for distribution to our community as part of their commitment to a long-term, supportive partnership with the Lowcountry Food Bank.
“We believe in making a positive impact in the communities in which we live and work. We know that Lowcountry Food Bank makes a big impact, too, and we are honored to help support their work,” said Crews Subaru owner Robert Crews. “We’re grateful for the opportunity, not only to be a part of our community, but to serve it as well.”
More than 184,000 neighbors experience food insecurity throughout the 10 coastal South Carolina counties that Lowcountry Food Bank serves, which is more than 12% of the population. More than 50,000 of these food insecure neighbors are children.
LCFB continues to meet increased food needs while facing challenges like higher costs of food procurement, and works diligently to work through challenges our neighbors who seek food assistance face like a higher cost of living, the price of gasoline and additional monthly expenses.
